Minanqari - this is how enamel is called in Georgian. It was very usual in ancient times in Georgia, although not everyone could afford it.

Hand crafted  works

You can always visit Georgian museums where you will find unique enamel works, generally performed on icons. Unfortunately this technique was lost in Georgia.

Nowadays masters are working with other enamel technique, that means filling decorative frames with different colours of glass, later burned in special ovens .

As it is believed, (according to the lost technique) different colours were achieved by different burning temperatures. In spite of that enamel is becoming more and more popular among art specialists and usual consumers.

We are glad to involve any interested person in our historical heritage.
